Welcome to the Official Website of Lizie dan la main, a member of the Union des Aveugles de L'Ile Maurice. Our aim is to help the visually handicapped to become as independent and autonomous as possible through rehabilitation.

Lizie dan la main is an Association for the rehabilitation of blind and partially sighted people living in Mauritius mainly. However, we do provide care to people from the neighbouring regions such as Madagascar, Commores and Africa as well.

 Lizie dan la main was set up in 1981 and has, since then, become a reference in the fight for the welfare and care of the visually handicapped in Mauritius.

Every person in Mauritius has a right to information and that is why Lizie dan la main is committed to providing information on relevant topics, to help the visually handicapped.

Through twenty five years of providing care to the visually handicapped, we have gathered information and experience which we would like to share with others on our website. We hope that it will be of help to them.
